About dr. reischer

Dr. Reischer is a licensed clinical psychologist with a private psychotherapy practice in New York City.  She is trained in both traditional psychodynamic psychotherapy as well as an evidenced based cognitive behavioral approach.   This includes techniques to help increase insight and self awareness in addition to symptom reduction as a means of effecting change. When working with clients, Dr. Reischer’s style is empathic, relational and interactive in nature. She believes therapy is a collaborative process that yields best results when tailored to fit each client’s unique needs and personal treatment goals.

Dr. Reischer is a strong believer in integrative and holistic health care and supports the use of other adjunctive treatments aimed at improving mental health and wellness. She works closely with a network of integrative health care providers and can help you navigate the process of finding the most effective route to your overall satisfaction and wellness.

In addition to working with adults, Dr. Reischer has extensive experience working with adolescents and young adults and has worked hard to gain an understanding of the challenges that face these age groups as it relates to transitioning through life's difficulties and changing demands.  She has spent years working in the NYC school system and University counseling center settings.  She also consults and works as the resident psychologist for a private pediatrician’s office in Forest Hills, NY.

Dr. Reischer received her doctorate degree in clinical psychology from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology in New York City.  Over the past 15 years she has trained and worked in various New York City hospitals and outpatient clinic settings with individuals, couples and families.  At the culmination of her training, she completed a year long APA-accredited internship through Mount Sinai Hospital.   More recently, she held an academic appointment as Instructor in the Department of Pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
